Alex van Oss

Growing up in Perth, Western Australia, Alex developed a deep appreciation for nature, inspired by his upbringing with two scientist parents—one specialising in environmental science. This environment fostered his curiosity about how the world works and a lifelong commitment to preserving it. 

Alex brings over a decade of specialised laboratory experience to his role at InterEarth, including in the highly regulated pathology laboratory environment. Since joining InterEarth more than two years ago, Alex has reinforced the organisation's rigorous sampling program through his meticulous attention to detail and scientific integrity. 

With a dynamic skill and knowledge set ranging from laboratory experience, coding and electronics, mechanical fit-outs and fixes, and the agriculture industry, Alex is recognised for his ingenuity in tackling complex challenges. His hands-on approach and curiosity have deepened his understanding of agriculture, particularly in the Western Australian Wheatbelt.  

Alex has fostered a strong connection with the communities he works with, engaging with locals and stakeholders to build collaborative relationships and promote InterEarth’s mission. His ability to connect with people has made him a valued liaison between the organisation and the community. 

Recently married, Alex enjoys spending his downtime gardening, playing with his dog, and immersing himself in all things music.
